Go to the Grand Canyon

Everyone says this. I know. You've heard it a hundred times and at some point it starts to sound like something people say because they can't think of anything more interesting to recommend.

They're right though.

There is no photograph, no documentary, no description that prepares you for the scale of it. Your brain has no reference point. You walk up to the rim and your depth perception just gives up. It looks fake in the specific way that only real things that are too large to process can look fake.

Go. Find a way. Stand at the edge. That's it, that's the whole recommendation.
