Ensenada is an easy first port. Short sail from Long Beach, manageable town, good street food. Valle de Guadalupe (Mexico's wine country) is nearby if you book a tour. Most people on the Atlantis cruise did not prioritize getting off the ship here. That is also a valid choice.
